Drying apples and other fruits was the best way our pioneer ancestors found to preserve them. Apples are especially hard to keep, so they were harvested, brought to this building, peeled, sliced, dried an usually packaged in wooden barrels. This replica Dry House was built on site in 1997 - and you may be lucky enough to see actual demonstrations there.
